Hotel Julien Dubuque Joins the Tesla Motors Destination Charging Network
(April 23rd, 2015) – Hotel Julien Dubuque recently installed three electric vehicle charging stations in partnership with the Telsa Motors Destination Charging program. Designed to provide travelers with electric vehicle charging options, the Destination Charging program supplies hotels, restaurants, and resorts with High Power Wall Connectors that offer more than twice the power of a typical charging station.
Located in the hotel’s East Parking Lot, the Destination Charging Station houses two Tesla chargers which operate at 80 amps and add 58 miles of range in one hour. In addition to the two Tesla chargers, the hotel has also installed one 60 amp universal electric vehicle charger.
“Electric vehicles are becoming increasingly popular,” said Sam Feehan, Maintenance Engineer at Hotel Julien Dubuque. “We continually strive to provide the best experiences for our guests so it was an easy decision to work with Tesla to offer electric vehicle charging as an added amenity.”
Visitors to the hotel have already expressed their excitement about the installation of the electric charging stations. A guest of Caroline’s Restaurant (located in the lower level of Hotel Julien Dubuque) noted, “Not only was the food fabulous – my girlfriend and I had lunch – but I could plug my Ford Focus Electric while I ate…Thank you Hotel Julien. Great service all around.” Additionally, an overnight guest of the hotel was thrilled to be able to charge her Tesla Model S during her stay.
Tesla plans to continue expanding their Destination Charging program by working with additional restaurants, hotels, resorts, and beach parking locations throughout the United States. Currently, Dubuque is one of only four locations in the state of Iowa that is a part of the Tesla Destination Charging network.
