Historic Walking Tour Launch and Reception
September 13th 1PM – 4PMIn 1913, the Dubuque Hotel Company commissioned award-winning Chicago architects Marshall and Fox to design Hotel Julien Dubuque after a tragic fire devastated the original structure. The new hotel was completed in September of 1915 and now, 100 years later, we invite you to take part in a historic tour celebrating the property’s rich history.
We will be hosting a reception in our grand lobby from 1 – 4 pm on Sunday, September 13th. Stop by to enjoy light snacks and refreshments as we introduce the self-guided tour of historic artifacts located throughout the hotel. The Capone Suite will be open for the public to view as well.
We encourage you to explore the treasure trove of artifacts displayed throughout our hotel and read about the hotel’s fascinating history on the corner of 2nd and Main. In an effort to bridge the old and the new, please share photos taken during your visit on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter using #hjdhistory.
