HJD History Photo Contest
Celebrating 100 Years. In 1913, the Dubuque Hotel Company commissioned award-winning Chicago architects Marshall and Fox to design Hotel Julien Dubuque after a tragic fire devastated the original structure. The new hotel was completed in September of 1915 and now, over 100 years later, we invite you to take part in a historic tour celebrating the property’s rich history.
We encourage you to explore the treasure trove of artifacts displayed throughout our hotel and read about the hotel’s fascinating history on the corner of 2nd and Main. In an effort to bridge the old and the new — and for a chance to win an overnight stay with us — please share photos taken during your visit on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter using #hjdhistory and/or #hjd100years.
