What path brought you to Hotel Julien Dubuque? Please share a little bit about your professional background and what led you to this industry.

I was in the Army for 12 years. After that, I ran several restaurants and bars. Also, I was the Manager of the cage department at a couple of casinos. My last job was at Chestnut Mountain Resort as the Night Manager.

What are you most passionate about professionally?

I am most passionate about taking care of my staff and our guests.

What are you passionate about personally?

I am very passionate about art. I use multiple types of media such as oils, acrylic, and also tattooing.

What is your favorite way to spend a free weekend?

I enjoy spending time with my spouse and our dog when I have free time.

What are some of your favorite things to do in the Dubuque area?

I haven’t spent a lot of time in Dubuque, though the casinos are always entertaining.

What do you love most about Hotel Julien Dubuque?

I like how the staff all get along and help each other.

Describe your typical work day.

Every day is different for me. I may be focused on an event, day-to-day operations of Riverboat Lounge, working on drink menus, scheduling staff, or doing paperwork.

I hinted at it earlier, but I like to do tattoos. I have done 125 tattoos so far, and look forward to doing more. I design tattoos, but can also stencil if a person wants something particular.
